With successful backgrounds in illustration, graffiti, sign painting, and architecture, we bring a unique approach to the space-making process. We believe good design brings people together and collaborate closely with our clients to foster environments where creativity and culture can thrive.
OUR TEAM
3.WRKS emerged from a friendship forged over a decade ago within Pratt Institute's industrial design department. Since then, the studio's founders have collaborated seamlessly, leveraging their individual expertise in different facets of the creative process—from concept, to development, to implementation. The result is a cohesive and dynamic creative team, capable of delivering comprehensive solutions.
Zachary Kahn is a seasoned multidisciplinary designer with a decade of experience in commercial real estate and place making. He honed his skills at Industry City, a 6MM square foot adaptive reuse property in Brooklyn, where he gained hands-on expertise in shepherding projects from concept to fruition. As Assistant Creative Director at Jamestown, Zachary played a pivotal role in shaping numerous large-scale mixed-use projects both nationally and internationally. In his leisure time, he indulges in the pursuit of mixed media art and abstract paintings.

Chris Li
Chris Li is an accomplished Architectural, Interior, and Furniture designer with a diverse range of skills. With a solid foundation in the design-build trade, he swiftly transitioned into the realm of commercial real estate development, where his transformative work on retail, hospitality, and public spaces proved instrumental in driving asset growth at prestigious locations such as Industry City and Ponce City Market. Serving as Senior Designer at Jamestown, Chris further honed his craft, gaining invaluable insights into the intricacies of mixed-use environments and expanding his reach to a broader audience. From concept to completion, he played an integral role in every project, ensuring their successful realization. Beyond his professional pursuits, Chris channels his creativity into furniture design and 3D art, showcasing his passion for craftsmanship.
Moritz has a background in Industrial design, hospitality, and business with a multicultural personal background. As such, Moritz has found Placemaking the natural point of confluence for his skillset and personality, a design enterprise that blends cultures and business. He has been in the business of bringing ideas from sketch to life for the past 6 years with S319-a Studio at the forefront of adaptive reuse design. As the head of S319, Moritz is actively involved with some of the largest adaptive reuse projects in New York City and across the US.
As an artist Moritz can be described as a curious pragmatist where the process is often more described than the product. In his other pursuits Moritz enjoys cars, snowboarding and the beach.
