NºBetween

N° Between occupies a 1200 sq. ft. space nestled between the Chelsea Market concourse and the 15th Street pedestrian path. It is part of a 2700 sq. ft. multi-concept consist of Maki A Mano and Mini. Together, they transcends cultural boundaries, emphasizes culinary excellence, and succeed business objectives.

Next to Maki A Mano from the concourse, N° Between leads guests down a narrow alleyway to a 15th Street-facing back-room Audiophile bar, offering Japanese yakitori, tapas, and crafted cocktails.

The design concept draws inspiration from the Showa era's traditional izakayas, infused with Japanese space-age elements found in old-school manga culture. The narrative aims to create an environment frozen in an imaginary dystopian time, where patrons can enjoy libations, feasts, singing, joy, and celebrations away from their busy occupations, evoking a sense of a Japanese tavern existing in a distant universe.

The interior features a unique bar and shelving design housing a library of vinyl records, mixology infusion displays, and DJ audio controls. Custom-designed seating arrangements enhance flexibility and add a sense of oddity to the space. The amber-lit atmosphere harmonizes brutalistic cement and stainless steel layers with the warmth of walnut surfaces and bronze accents.
